Disconnecting QuickBooks

You're always in control of the connection between Fortivo and QuickBooks Online. There are two ways to disconnect.

Option 1: Disconnect from inside Fortivo

  1. Sign in to Fortivo.
  2. Go to QBO Settings in the top navigation (or visit /settings/qbo directly).
  3. Click Disconnect and confirm.

This immediately revokes Fortivo's access token with Intuit and removes the connection on our side — Fortivo can no longer access or sync your QuickBooks data after this. If the revoke can't be confirmed with Intuit for any reason, Fortivo will show an error and will not remove the connection, so you always know its actual state.

Option 2: Disconnect from QuickBooks Online directly

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Click the Settings (gear icon), then select Manage Apps(sometimes shown as "My Apps").
  3. Find Fortivo in your list of connected apps.
  4. Click Disconnect.

This revokes Fortivo's access directly from Intuit's side. We recommend also disconnecting from inside Fortivo (Option 1) so our records stay in sync, though either method fully stops future access.

What happens after you disconnect

Once disconnected, Fortivo can no longer access or sync new data from QuickBooks Online. Data that was already synced before disconnecting may remain stored in our system — disconnecting stops future access, but does not automatically erase historical data. If you'd like previously synced data deleted as well, contact us and we will delete it.
